A Little About Me…

Let’s rip off the Band-Aid! My middle name isn’t just Mae. My full name is Trinity Inez, Mae Compton. So I got to pick which one sounded the best. Honestly, I had to be cheesy and choose the one with a slight rhyme to it. That’s who I am and how the name for my small business was born! 

In fact, that’s not the only thing in my life that comes in two. I’m a Gemini, which symbolizes the celestial twins. It is an air sign: playful, curious and multi-talented. My favorite colors are forest green and navy blue. Although I usually only wear black! My main hobbies are collecting books I never have time to read, cozy video gaming, and concert going. 

My Photography Journey...

My interest with photography began in my first year of high school. I managed to get into the last film photography class before they switched to digital only. My luck blossomed from there since we were provided a Nikon F60 with a 35mm lens, a ton of film, and free range to roam the campus to take photos.

After trial and error of using the camera and seeing the results in the dark room, I started to get a better grasp of how to play with light. As a Freshmen I joined the school newspaper and later in my high school career I became the Copy Editor of the yearbook as well. There was a lot of opportunity to take photos from that point forward.

I never left my house without my personal camera, a Nikon D3200. Some of my favorite images to this day were taken with that camera. My very close friends' Kaiya and Celine volunteered to model for me so that I could sharpen my portrait skills. They were great models, easy to work with, allowing me to expand my imagination.

The start of my career...

Once I graduated, I spent over two years working as a Senior Photographer for a Volume Photography Studio. There I truly grasped in-studio photography by learning different shooting techniques from other photographers and effective ways to use studio lighting in various conditions. I mastered the art of taking photos of people quickly, concisely, and utilized flowed posing to give the client a variety of pictures.

I have experience working with 50+ people for group photos, standard sports photography, in-studio business portraits, passports and capturing large (100+) events. These experiences and more have taught me a lot. I plan to showcase it with my work today.

The job was absolutely amazing with one caveat, they only used Canon cameras! Once I started using Canon I fell in love.

Now...

Today my Canon R6 and I are working towards growing my business, Trinity Mae Photography. During my free time I plan on going to more concerts, seeing movies at the theaters, and reading at least two books a month. I want to keep spending time with family, friends, and Abel (my high school sweet heart).

My goal one day is to be able to look at my calendar and see all of the available slots completely booked. Just so I can pick up my camera to do what I love every day.
